Experimenting with Photoshop

I've been experimenting with Photoshop. I have A LOT to learn but I know more now than I did a year ago so maybe someday I'll get it all figured out (someday far far in the future). This week I learned a little about layer masks, how to alter hue and saturation, and lighting effects (Filter>Render>Lighting Effects). I applied all three to this photo I took of a butterfly outside. I increased the saturation of the "orange" tones to bring out the color in the butterfly wings and the flowers behind it. I also used the lighting effects to make it look like a flashlight was shinning on the picture. Overall I'm pleased with the picture. I won't be doing anything with it, but it helped me understand a little bit more about how Photoshop works, and it will remind me of Hilton Head.

I love to learn

I started a new blog and let me tell you why. I love to try new things. Yep, it's true I do. You see the thing is, that I get bored really easy, so I'm always trying out something new. I figured that this blog could be a place for me to share with you the things I try, in case you have an issue with boredom too.
It took me a while to come up with a name for this blog because I wasn't exactly sure what all I would be posting on it. I love to sew, and cook, and bake (oh how I love to bake), take pictures and see what I can turn it into with the help of photoshop, and lots of other things I haven't even discovered yet. But when I do, I'm sure I'll post them here and then if you want, you can try them too.
